Pershing Jail Release Destinations
The Pershing County Law Enforcement Facility, commonly called Pershing County Jail, holds people arrested locally, pretrial detainees, and people serving local sentences. A person may leave for the community after bond, own-recognizance release, dismissal, time served, sentence completion, probation, or another court authorization. The release entry should identify the date, time, and disposition. A court order can explain the legal cause, but it may precede the point when jail staff finish processing.
Some departures are transfers. A movement to NDOC, another county jail, ICE, or the U.S. Marshals Service ends Pershing County’s physical custody without ending custody itself. Ask the Sheriff two direct questions: did the local booking close, and who received the person? When a receiving agency is named, confirm status in that agency’s system. A transfer to Lovelock Correctional Center is a state-prison commitment or movement, not release into Lovelock.

Confirm a Pershing Jail Release
No official Pershing County web roster, released tab, or rolling 24-hour or 72-hour release feed was located in the official sweep as of July 28, 2026. That does not mean the internal release record is absent. It means the Sheriff and court path must lead. Identity details matter because a name alone can point to the wrong person.

Request Pershing Jail Release Records
Use the official Sheriff public-record form. It permits paper, electronic, or certified copies and in-person inspection. Address it to the Pershing County Sheriff’s Office, Attention Public Records Officer, P.O. Box 147, Lovelock, NV 89419. The PDF dates from 2022, so call before sending to confirm the current delivery route.
Ask for a defined set: booking sheet, custody movement or release log, exact release date and time, release disposition, receiving agency or transfer destination, court commitment or release document held by the jail, property-release receipt, and booking photograph. Request the docket, release or bail order, judgment, sentencing minutes, credit for time served, probation order, dismissal, revocation, and discharge entry that fit the case. A bail order does not prove the exact time jail staff completed release. A dismissal should not be inferred merely from bond release. Match the court chronology to the Sheriff’s movement date.
Nevada’s appellate case portal is not a complete Pershing trial-court search. The County Recorder’s EagleWeb is also not a criminal case locator. When a felony began in Justice Court and moved to District Court, check both case numbers rather than assuming one clerk has the whole history.
Outside Pershing Jail Is Not Discharge
Pershing County Code describes regular work release, education release, trustee work, work exchange, and possible electronic supervision. Each can put a person outside the jail building without producing final discharge. Pretrial electronic supervision does not earn time-served credit under the codified policy. A person may also serve an intermittent sentence while remaining subject to the court and jail schedule.
Ask whether the booking remains open, whether the person is still serving time, and whether the status is pretrial or post-sentence. The individual judgment and credit ledger are better sources than calendar arithmetic. Local code permits several forms of sentence credit, but each depends on eligibility, conduct, sentence length, and official calculation. Do not turn a maximum credit into a promised release date.

Pershing Jail History and Plans
Pershing County Resolution 25-0505 states that the law-enforcement facility had been in continuous use since 1975. The county described rising costs and challenges in meeting modern safety and security standards. It also established a detention-facility fund with an annual $1 million allocation beginning in fiscal year 2024-25 toward a new facility.
That resolution supplies local history, not proof that a new jail has opened. Use the Sheriff’s current official contact before visiting or sending records. The distinction matters because an outdated address can delay a request, while a planning document can be mistaken for a completed move. No separately operated Lovelock municipal lockup was confirmed in the research sweep.
Is Lovelock Correctional Center the same jail? No. LCC is an NDOC state prison. The Pershing Sheriff does not certify an LCC discharge, even though both facilities are in Lovelock.
Pershing Jail Monthly Release Reports
Pershing County Code 13.30.080 provides a locally specific records trail. It requires the Sheriff to give the County Commission, at its first meeting each month, a list of each person then serving a term. The described fields include term length, credited presentence days, credits earned, and admission date. Another subsection refers to a monthly report concerning people discharged from incarceration and their ability to pay or reimburse costs.
Neither report is a live recent-release feed. The current-sentence list is a point-in-time administrative report, while the discharged-person report follows a monthly cycle. Still, both are useful targets when an exact daily web list does not exist. Ask the Public Records Officer for the relevant monthly report and the segregable booking, admission, credit, discharge, or movement fields for the period at issue. A narrow date range and named record type make the request easier to understand.
Financial details may be private, redacted, or irrelevant to release verification. A requester does not need them to establish when custody ended. Seek the person’s identifiers, release date, release disposition, and receiving agency. Then compare those fields with the court order. Monthly reporting can support the chronology, but the individual jail movement entry remains the best source for the precise event.
Recent notification is a different channel. Nevada retired VINELink and replaced it with Nevada S.A.V.E. in 2025. S.A.V.E. may help track a named person or request notice, but it warns that someone no longer in custody may not appear. It is periodically updated and is not a certified Pershing County Jail discharge record.
Pershing Jail Fees After Release
County code allows policies involving incarceration-cost reimbursement and refers to reports about discharged people and ability to pay. It also describes potential work-exchange or intermittent-sentence fees subject to ability to pay. Those obligations do not mean that the person remains in custody after a valid discharge entry.
Keep the records request focused on custody facts. Ask for the release date, release type, and receiving agency. If requesting a discharged-inmate report described by county code, seek the segregable movement fields rather than unrelated private financial detail. A fee record and a custody record serve different administrative purposes.
